Clay Day Success: Somerset Masons Hit Targets and Welcomes a New Member!
The Somerset Masonic Shooting Club recently hosted an enjoyable and successful friendly clay pigeon shooting competition at Mendip Shooting Ground.
The event brought together Brethren from multiple lodges across the province for a day of rivalry and fellowship amidst beautiful scenery. The shooting was keenly contested, resulting in a tie for first place with an impressive score of 40/50, closely followed by a second-place score of 35/50. Congratulations to the high guns!
Adding to the positive atmosphere, the SMSC was delighted to welcome a new Brother who joined the club that day, highlighting its continued growth and appeal within Somerset Freemasonry.
These regularly organised events by the SMSC provide valuable opportunities for Somerset Masons to connect outside of lodge meetings, strengthening bonds and fostering camaraderie through a shared interest in shooting.

This special competition will welcome our neighbouring Masonic provinces to join us for a day of shooting and fellowship. It’s a fantastic opportunity to test your skills against a wider field of Masonic shooters and further strengthen the bonds between our provinces. We encourage our members, especially those who enjoy a bit of friendly inter-provincial competition, to come along and represent Somerset!
